EXOTIC BEACHES

The island of Kea (or Tzia) is the closest to the Attica Cycladic Island, making it ideal for nearby excursions but not only. The beaches of Kea are characteristic and are formed by the intense relief of the island that creates small bays. Tzia has many beaches despite its small size and most of them are organized.

Despite the easy access to the island, the island is not disturbed by the tourism development and in combination with its natural beauty the beaches of Keaconstitute an excellent choice. Let’s take look at the most famous beaches:

Xyla

Xyla is one of the most popular beaches in Kea, in a beautiful bay with Cycladic beauty. The beach is covered with golden sand and fine pebbles while the waters are blue and relatively deep. The beach of Xyla is organized in terms of umbrellas and deck chairs and has a cafe and a restaurant nearby, in foot walk. It is reportedly named after the many woods that washed by the sea here.

Sykamia

Sykamia Beach has fantastic colors, crystal clear waters and is generally a magical landscape. It is not organized, so you have to take care of your shade unless you go out in the afternoon when the salt mines throw their shadow on the beach. The tremendous trees in the center of the beach are its characteristic. Access requires a 4km dirt road but really worth the trouble. Usually it is protected from the wind.

Poisses

Another amazing sandy beach in Tzia. Poisses beach, next to the homonymous settlement, is situated on the edge of a verdant valley with olive groves leading to a large sandy beach. It is organized with umbrellas and sun loungers, as well as food and coffee facilities. Its western orientation offers unobstructed views of the sunset.

Otzias

Otzias is the most characteristic beach of Tzia. It is circular in shape and is connected to the sea with a narrow strip of water. It is of course completely protected from the wind all the seasons. It is organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas and several shops. Access is easy, just 5 kilometers from the harbor, and there is also a spacious parking area.

Spathi

Spathi is a somewhat secluded beach accessible only by dirt road, but it has crystal clear waters and is one of the most up-to-date choices for young people. The beach bar has given its own tone to the beach that attracts more and more people.

Koundouros

Koundouros Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the island with a south-facing location and is organized with a bar-restaurant, sun umbrellas and a blue flag. Excellent sandy beach with a shallow sea, preferred by young people and families. Access is relatively comfortable but there is no parking near the beach.

Gialiskari

Nice coast, relatively small, with a beach bar, Gialiskari mainly brings together a new world. It has clear waters and is an easily accessible beach within the treesthat give a natural shade all over the beach. It has a parking space.

Koundouraki or Mpouri

Koundouraki or Mpouri is a small, picturesque and well-organized beach with sand and fine pebbles. Here you can enjoy various water sports.
