According to mythology, Kea was called “Hydrousa” for its waters and dense vegetation. The myth say that the Nymphs who lived in the forests of the island abandoned the island and since then Sirius, the brightest star of the heavenly dome, has not only destroyed Hydrousa but all the Cyclades.
History of KEA
EXOTIC BEACHES
The island of Kea (or Tzia) is the closest to the Attica Cycladic Island, making it ideal for nearby excursions but not only. The beaches of Kea are characteristic and are formed by the intense relief of the island that creates small bays. Tzia has many beaches despite its small size and most of them are organized.
NIGHTLIFE
The beautiful island of Tzia keeps its identity even at night. The fun and nightlife of Kea is a gentle form in an attempt not to spoil its character, as is the case elsewhere in the Cyclades. There are plenty of places to enjoy your evenings without disturbing the lives of the residents and the serenity of the island.
